Sony Ericsson have a good record when it comes to producing camera phones. The Satio was a good example of how mobile handsets are beginning to cause looks of consternation from the producers of low end cameras and now its predecessor, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, has cheap camcorders in its sights, too.

Users of Sony's Playstation Network have been waiting for a week for it to be turned back on, but have only now been told the reason behind it's shut down. Hackers have infiltrated the network and it's possible that personal information and credit card details have been stolen. This leaves 77 million users of the Playstation 3 potentially affected by the data theft.

It hasn't taken long for 3D Blu-ray players to become affordable for the mainstream, but is going for a relatively cheap option going to work in the long run? We grabbed hold of the Sony BDP-S580 to find out....

If you happened to be watching the BBC tonight you may have seen the consumer rights programme "Watchdog". Featured amongst some the highly dubious businesses plying their trades, poor customer service centres and Anne Robinson's botoxed face, you will probably have noticed a big name in the firing line - Sony. The PS3 was in trouble for the so-called "Yellow Ring of Death", an alleged (check me out, covering my legal behind!) fault with the console, so named as an homage to the Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death.

A mixed day of news for fans of OLED screens - LG have announced they intend to launch their EL9500 OLED TV in the States some time during the summer, whilst Sony have stopped production of their Japanese OLED televisions due to "sluggish demand", according to Reuters.
