Apple iPod Classic 160GB Black

Last night's Apple event welcomed back Steve Jobs at his first public outing since returning to work after illness and also introduced a wide range of new product to the world. The rumours have been flying around for what seems like forever, so there's no major surprises, however, as usual the gossip factory has made a few errors. Let's take a look at what Apple have got in store for us in the critical build-up to Christmas.

If the gossip is to be believed, Apple will be hold a media event in the US on September 9th and top of the itinerary will be the introduction of their new breed of iPods. Both the nano and the iTouch are expected to have cameras integrated and the event will also see the newly re-vamped iTunes given an airing. It is likely that Version 9 will come  complete with brand new Blu-Ray support and access to a wide range of social networking sites. Interesting stuff. Probably best known for their home computers, Dell have always been a reliable, safe choice for those that kind of know what they want - the sort of stand alone, all in one, no add-ons PC your granny could use. Stories have been rife for a while that Dell have been cooking up a smartphone  somewhere in a secret laboratory (probably in the Home Counties, nextdoor to IKEA), but recent rumours suggest they might be putting in a challenge to the iPod Touch instead, powered by the Android open source platform. But can they really take on Apple?

Rumours are rife today that the next generation of iPods are going to have cameras installed, and possibly a video recorder. Already installed in their iPhone 3G S,  Apple have  given a pretty good account of themselves in updating the slightly maligned camera from previous incarnations of the iPhone and this is exciting news for iPod fans. Word on the street is that they are even considering putting them into the nano range, the cheeky little monkeys! No word on price yet, but no doubt we'll get a whisper soon enough and you'll be the first to know.
