2010 has been a major year for games in more ways than one. Not only have we seen some superb - and record breaking - titles this year, but we have also seen the dawn of a new era.
Microsoft's Kinect for the Xbox 360 and Sony's Move for the PlayStation 3 will have a huge impact in the kind of games we will start seeing in end-of-year charts such as these, and the emergence of the mobile phone, tablet PC, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch as major gaming devices will also add some really different flavours into the mix - the inclusion of Angry Birds in this year's Best of... is a sign of things to come, in our opinion.We have chosen this year's Top 5 as the games we feel have had the most impact - they may not necessarily be the 'best' all rounders, but they have all created a certain buzz around them. Take a good look - it could well be the last time those 'impact' titles come from the more traditional gaming formats.
